Jessica Davies – Dentist

Jessica studied dentistry at The Royal London Dental Hospital, graduating in 2004. She then worked in general practice in Balham South London to complete her vocational training program and obtain her NHS performer number. A move out of London in 2006 resulted in her to working for the salaried dental services in Portsmouth. This work was very varied and included working with children with special needs and complex medical conditions. Jessica gained experience in different dental environments such as prisons, a deportation centres and hospitals. This role inspired her interest in anxious patients and the use of sedation. She worked for 7 years in this role and became a senior dental officer in the department.

Along side the salaried post Jessica worked in a general dental practice in Ryde for 7 years before moving to Sandown Dental practice full time in 2012. A few years after joining the team in Sandown she stepped up and became a principle with Mr Baker.

Jessica enjoys all elements of general practice but specialises in managing anxious patients and offers treatment under intravenous sedation. She recently obtained a MSc from Bristol university in post graduate dental studies with a focus on sedation and anxiety management.

When Jessica is not at work she enjoys spending time with her husband and son on the island. She is a keen runner and skier, although she is now the slowest one down the mountain as her family keep telling her!
