Dental Fillings
Dental fillings are the simplest and easiest ways of fixing teeth that have small holes or cracks. Dental amalgam is a dental filling material used to fill cavities caused by tooth decay. It has been used for more than 150 years in hundreds of millions of patients around the world.
Dental amalgam fillings are strong and long-lasting, so they are less likely to break than some other types of fillings.
Composite (white) dental fillings are natural looking and have improved greatly over the last few years in strength and durability.
Deciding what filling material to use to treat dental decay is a choice that must be made by you and your dentist depending on each individual case.

What is a White Filling?
New technological improvements in dentistry allow white or natural tooth coloured fillings to be utilised in rebuilding decayed and broken teeth. Our fillings are constructed from resin or composite and are long-lasting, very durable and robust.
These types of fillings can be applied both in the front or at the back of the mouth. They present a natural appearance to reclaim the strength and function of damaged teeth. Our dentist may build up cracked or chipped teeth with white fillings to restore the tooth. It can also be used for reshaping uneven teeth, closing the gaps between teeth and filling mouth cavities that have happened due to tooth decay.
White fillings are performed in one easy appointment. Firstly, we numb the area so that the procedure is comfortable. We then lightly remove the part of your tooth that has been broken and then restore the missing tooth structure with a filling. We shine a bright blue light on the filling which will strengthen the filling, making it very strong.
